Optymalnie uwodnione \u201e\u017cywe\u201d mokrad\u0142a, z aktywn\u0105 akumulacj\u0105 materii organicznej, s\u0105 \u015brodowiskami o najwi\u0119kszej spo\u015br\u00f3d wszystkich biom\u00f3w na Ziemi warto\u015bci \u015bwiadcze\u0144 ekosystemowych. Korzy\u015bci spo\u0142eczne i gospodarcze, jakie wynikaj\u0105 z ich obecno\u015bci s\u0105 rozliczne, z czego cz\u0119sto nie zdajemy sobie sprawy: poczynaj\u0105c od dostarczania surowc\u00f3w i po\u017cywienia, poprzez kszta\u0142towanie zasob\u00f3w wodnych, ochron\u0119 przed powodzi\u0105, kszta\u0142towanie klimatu, wychwytywanie zanieczyszcze\u0144 obszarowych przemieszczanych wraz z wodami gruntowymi i sp\u0142ywem powierzchniowym do rzek, ochron\u0119 r\u00f3\u017cnorodno\u015bci biologicznej i genetycznej, a\u017c po warto\u015bci edukacyjne, duchowe i rekreacyjne.<\/p>\n<p>Obecnie, w okresie intensyfikacji produkcji rolnej i post\u0119puj\u0105cej eutrofizacji, kt\u00f3ra jest wynikiem zanieczyszczenia \u015brodowiska przez niewykorzystane sk\u0142adniki nawozowe, azot i fosfor, szczeg\u00f3lnego znaczenia nabiera unieszkodliwianie zanieczyszcze\u0144 i ochrona w\u00f3d przed eutrofizacj\u0105.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pa\u0144stwa cz\u0142onkowskie Unii Europejskiej postawi\u0142y sobie wyra\u017any i ambitny cel, jakim jest zapobieganie dalszemu pogarszaniu, ochrona i poprawa stanu ekosystem\u00f3w w\u00f3d \u015br\u00f3dl\u0105dowych i morskich. Osi\u0105gni\u0119cie tego celu nie b\u0119dzie mo\u017cliwe bez mokrad\u0142owych stref buforowych &#8211; \u201ebio-filtr\u00f3w\u201d, w kt\u00f3rych zachodzi naturalny proces oczyszczania w\u00f3d gruntowych.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mi\u0119dzynarodowe konsorcjum sk\u0142adaj\u0105ce si\u0119 naukowc\u00f3w z Niemiec, Polski, Litwy, Rosji i Bia\u0142orusi w latach 2019-2021 b\u0119dzie realizowa\u0142o projekt <em>Development of Sustainable (adaptive) peatland management by Restoration and paludiculture<\/em> (DESIRE).<\/p>\n<p>DESIRE otrzyma\u0142 status projektu flagowego z punktu widzenia realizacji Strategii Unii Europejskiej dla Regionu Morza Ba\u0142tyckiego i jest jednym z 31 projekt\u00f3w zakwalifikowanych do finansowania w trzecim konkursie Interreg Baltic Sea Region.<\/p>\n<p>Projekt dotyczy efektywnego gospodarowania zasobami naturalnymi, a jego celem jest poprawa efektywno\u015bci zarz\u0105dzania mokrad\u0142ami w zlewni Niemna na obszarze Bia\u0142orusi, Litwy, Rosji oraz Polski, a tak\u017ce opracowanie plan\u00f3w strategicznych i operacyjnych prowadz\u0105cych do zmniejszenia \u0142adunku zwi\u0105zk\u00f3w biogenicznych nap\u0142ywaj\u0105cych ze zlewni Niemna do Ba\u0142tyku. Planowaniem zajmie si\u0119 mi\u0119dzynarodowa grupa odpowiedzialna za program zarz\u0105dzania zlewni\u0105. Zesp\u00f3\u0142 specjalist\u00f3w z pi\u0119ciu kraj\u00f3w, w tym pracownicy WBiI\u015a PB pod kierunkiem prof. Piotra Banaszuka, opracuje koncepcj\u0119 renaturyzacji mokrade\u0142 w zlewni Niemna oraz studium wykonalno\u015bci wdro\u017cenia idei paludikultury, polegaj\u0105cej na ekonomicznym wykorzystaniu biomasy pozyskiwanej z odtworzonych mokrade\u0142. Wypracowane rozwi\u0105zania b\u0119d\u0105 przetestowane w dzia\u0142aniach pilota\u017cowych.
