{"id":25544,"date":"2025-10-23T09:59:46","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T07:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wb.pb.edu.pl\/2025\/10\/23\/25536\/"},"modified":"2025-10-23T11:27:01","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T09:27:01","slug":"25536","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wb.pb.edu.pl\/en\/2025\/10\/23\/25536\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications for the BioLAB Program 2026-27 are now open!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission invites Master\u2019s and PhD students of life sciences, biophysics and medical fields of study to submit applications for the <a href=\"https:\/\/fulbright.edu.pl\/biolab-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BioLAB 2026-27 Program<\/a>. <strong>The call for applications lasts until February 2, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The BioLAB program allows to complete a one-year research internship in a laboratory located in one of four institutions in the US:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University of Virginia, Charlottesville<\/li>\n<li>University of Chicago, Chicago<\/li>\n<li>University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas<\/li>\n<li>Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Oklahoma City<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the internship, students conduct independent research in laboratories. Results of the research are often published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. In addition, students take an active part in the life of the host institution, participate in seminars, guest lectures and learn about American culture. In some cases, students have the opportunity to use the research results for their Master&#8217;s\/PhD dissertation at their home university.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Participation in the Program includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scholarship in amount of $28,000 &#8211; $35,000<\/li>\n<li>Full medical insurance&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Assistance in obtaining an F-1 or J-1 visa for a stay in the US (the cost of SEVIS number and issuing a visa is covered by the student)<\/li>\n<li>Pre-departure orientation conducted by the Fulbright Commission staff and alumni of the program<\/li>\n<li>Assistance during the program offered by the host institution&#8217;s representatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Student who would like to apply should:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"decimal_type\">\n<li>Meet the formal requirements for a F-1 or J-1 visa,<\/li>\n<li>Study life sciences, biophysics or medical fields of study (biology, pharmacy, biophysics, medicine, etc.),<\/li>\n<li>Hold, at a minimum, a bachelor\u2019s degree (licencjat\/in\u017cynier degree if the studies were completed in Poland) and at the time of interview (March 2025) will be a student of a Master\u2019s or PhD degree at a Polish university or research institution and maintain an active student status during the program,<\/li>\n<li>Obtained a high GPA (recommended &#8211; 4.0 or higher),<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate knowledge of English at the proficiency level (minimum B2).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong> International students must have completed the undergraduate degree (Licencjat or In\u017cynier) in a Polish university.<\/p>\n<p>The application form and all the necessary information can be found at <a title=\"Will open on a new website\" href=\"https:\/\/fulbright.edu.pl\/biolab-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/fulbright.edu.pl\/biolab-program\/<\/a><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission invites Master\u2019s and PhD students of life sciences, biophysics and medical<a class=\"read-more\" href=\"https:\/\/wb.pb.edu.pl\/en\/2025\/10\/23\/25536\/\" title=\"Poka\u017c artyku\u0142 Applications for the BioLAB Program 2026-27 are now open!\">more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":25539,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[72],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-25544","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Applications for the BioLAB Program 2026-27 are now open!
