RETO MADERA competition – from waste to resource

We invite students to participate in the RETO MADERA competition, which aims to find innovative, feasible and sustainable solutions that give a second life to waste wood from construction sites. Proposals may include new materials, processing methods, product designs or business models based on the circular economy.

Who can participate?

Engineering and master’s students interested in design, sustainable development and innovation in the construction sector.

Why is it worth it?

Participation in the competition is an opportunity to have a real impact on the development of the circular economy, reduce negative environmental impact and create new directions for innovation in the construction industry. It is also an opportunity to showcase your skills and creativity.

Key dates:

• Start of recruitment: 10 November 2025
•  Application deadline: 12 December 2025
•  Announcement of winners: 17 December 2025

Prizes:

• 1st place: €300
• 2nd place: €100
• Special award for innovation and sustainability
