About ISE

The International School of Engineering at Tianjin Chengjian University (ISE), abbreviated as ISE, is a jointly operated Sino-foreign educational institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, subject to the laws of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Poland, and the relevant regulations on Sino-foreign cooperation in the operation of educational institutions.

The School is operated by Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU), where it is based, in cooperation with the Bialystok University of Technology (BUT) and the Cracow University of Technology (CUT). All classes at both the Bialystok and Krakow Polytechnics will be conducted in English.

ISE offers first- and second-level studies. At first degree studies (engineer). Bialystok University of Technology together with TCU conducts two majors: Civil and Environmental Engineering, while another two majors: Architecture and Landscape Architecture, are co-taught by the Cracow University of Technology.

At the second degree level (Master of Engineering), ISE also offers four majors, two of which, Construction and Water Engineering and Environmental Resources and Engineering, are co-taught with Bialystok University of Technology (where they are called respectively: Civil and Environmental Engineering), while another two: Architecture and Landscape Architecture are taught with the participation of the Cracow University of Technology.

The curricula meet the educational quality standards applicable in both Poland and China.

At the International School of Engineering, knowledge will be acquired by Chinese citizens, and the total number of students planned for enrolment at the ISE is 1200 (the first enrolment for Bachelor’s degree studies took place in 2020, the last one is planned for Bachelor’s degree studies in 2025). Each year, 240 students are planned to be enrolled in first degree programs and 60 students in second degree programs. The enrolment limits specified in the tripartite agreement are as follows: for the Construction Faculty – 70 students for first-cycle studies and 15 students for second-cycle studies, for the Environmental Engineering Faculty – 60 and 15 students respectively.

First-cycle students will have to study at the Bialystok University of Technology for two semesters (semesters V and VI according to the study plan), and second-cycle students for one semester (semester II according to the study plan).
