International School of Engineering (ISE)

About ISE

The International School of Engineering at Tianjin Chengjian University (ISE) is a jointly run Chinese-foreign educational institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, subject to the laws of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Poland, as well as the relevant regulations concerning Chinese-foreign cooperation in the field of running educational institutions. The school is run by Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU), where it is based, in cooperation with the Bialystok University of Technology and the Krakow University of Technology.

ISE offers first-cycle (bachelor’s) and second-cycle (master’s) studies. At the first-cycle level, the Bialystok University of Technology and TCU offer two majors: Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, while the other two majors, Architecture and Landscape Architecture, are offered jointly with the Krakow University of Technology.

At the second-cycle level, ISE also offers four fields of study, two of which: Civil and Hydraulics Engineering, and Resources and Environmental Engineering, are run in cooperation with the Bialystok University of Technology (where they are called Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, respectively), while the other two: Architecture and Landscape Architecture are run in cooperation with the Krakow University of Technology. The study programs meet the educational quality standards applicable in both Poland and China.

Chinese citizens acquire knowledge at the International School of Engineering. The first recruitment for studies took place in 2020. Each year, a group of about 60 people is admitted to each of the first-cycle programs and about 15 to second-cycle programs.

ISE first-cycle students in the fields of Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering study at the Bialystok University of Technology for two semesters (V and VI), and second-cycle students for one semester (semester III according to the study plan). In addition, several courses are taught at TCU by specially delegated teachers from the Bialystok University of Technology. All classes taught by the Polish side are conducted in English.
